Thousands without power overnight Friday as Hurricane Helene impacts Lowcountry

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD)- Thousands of Lowcountry residents are without power overnight as Hurricane Helene brings heavy rain and gusty winds to the Carolinas.

Dominion Energy, Berkeley Electric Cooperative, and Santee Cooper were all reporting outages as of 3 a.m. Friday.

Here’s how to report a power outage:

DOMINION ENERGY:

CHARLESTON COUNTY: 34,512 are without power.

COLLETON COUNTY: 11,652 are without power.

DORCHESTER COUNTY: 14,615 are without power.

BERKELEY COUNTY: 4,448 are without power.
