Multi-vehicle collision injures 4 people on I-95

COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A multi-vehicle collision on I-95 sent four people to the trauma center on Wednesday.

Colleton County Fire-Rescue said the collision involved three cars and two semi-trucks. The accident happened on I-96 southbound near mm 56 during a thunderstorm.

Three ambulances responded to the accident due to four severely injured people. Authorities say a Nissan Rogue was hit by several vehicles and ended up against the cable barrier in the median. A Ford Escape also received heavy damage after colliding with one of the semi-trucks.

Both cars had two occupants that were injured. Emergency personnel treated and transported them to the trauma center.

Two people were in the third car but were not injured. Neither truck driver received any injuries.
