Charleston Police arrest suspect after fight and gunshots on Stinson Drive

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Early Saturday morning, the Charleston Police Department responded to reports of a fight and gunshots on Stinson Drive.

Charleston Police Sgt. Terry Cherry said officers were dispatched at approximately 12:50 a.m. and quickly identified a suspect vehicle, which was stopped shortly after.

Joseph Spencer Hiers, one of the occupants, was arrested and charged with assault and battery 1st degree and possession with intent to distribute (PWID) marijuana.

He is being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center under a $55,000 bond.

The Charleston Police Department is investigating.
