Trespassing juvenile had knife on school grounds, Mount Pleasant police say
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – A juvenile trespassing at Crown Academy was charged Thursday for having a knife on school grounds, police say.
Officers with the Mount Pleasant Police Department responded to Crown Leadership Academy off Wakendaw Road and located the juvenile at a nearby pond.
Police say a witness confirmed the juvenile was on the property.
“While speaking to the juvenile, officers observed a fixed blade knife on his backpack that he was carrying and were able to determine that a threat wasn’t made towards the students or staff,” the department said.
The juvenile was charged with carrying a weapon on school property and placed on trespass notice from Crown Academy.
The private school went into lockdown during the incident.
