Mount Pleasant police responding to rollover crash with entrapment

UPDATE: The entrapped person has been extracted from the vehicle. They are conscious and speaking, police say.

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – Mount Pleasant police are responding to a Friday afternoon rollover crash with entrapment.

Sgt. Ashley Croy said a tractor-trailer versus vehicle accident happened on Anna Knapp Boulevard at Highway 17, with one vehicle overturned. “There is one person that is entrapped,” she said.

A detour is in place on Highway 17 North and Anna Knapp, and traffic will be diverted onto Johnnie Dodds Blvd.

Fire crews are also on the scene working to assist the patient. “They are conscious and talking,” Sgt. Croy said.

Drivers should use caution in the area.
