3 teenagers charged for Goose Creek vehicle break-ins, deputies say
BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Three teenagers were charged for breaking into vehicles after attempting to flee Berkeley County deputies, the agency said.
Dispatch received a call about possible vehicle break-ins just before 3 a.m., the agency said.
Deputies responded and searched the area of Archibald Drive in Goose Creek, where they found three suspects who matched the caller’s description.
The three suspects saw the deputies and ran off. One fell shortly after running away, and a deputy attempted to detain him.
He began to fight back against the deputy grabbing his vest, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.
He then allegedly hit the deputy in the face. Another deputy arrived to help, and the teen was eventually detained.
Law enforcement found the other two suspects a short time later.
When found, one of the suspects had a pair of AirPods and a Beats headset on him. The sheriff’s office said he admitted to authorities that he stole the items from a vehicle in a nearby neighborhood.
One 17-year-old was charged with breaking into a motor vehicle and resisting arrest with assault on law enforcement. Another 17-year-old was charged with breaking into a motor vehicle. The third suspect, who was 15-years-old was charged with breaking into a motor vehicle.
