Man accused of breaking into vehicles was arrested after short foot chase
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – A man accused of breaking into vehicles in Mount Pleasant was arrested early Thursday morning after running from officers.
Police responded to Camfield Lane around midnight after a citizen witnessed someone pulling on handles. Officers, after checking on the vehicles, said they were ‘clearly’ entered.
A suspect was found while officers canvassed the area. The individual did not listen to verbal commands to stop, and a short foot chase ensued.
The suspect, Charles Huntington Dusenbury, was located and detained.
“Dusenbury gave discrepancies as to why he was in the area. He was further confirmed by video footage being in the vicinity as well as seen changing his clothes from what the officer originally saw him wearing,” the police department said.
Dusenbury was charged with four counts of breaking into motor vehicles.
