Car struck several trees, rolled over in high-speed Sunday morning crash along Cottageville Highway
COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A woman was taken to an area hospital early Sunday morning after a high-speed crash with a rollover.
Colleton County Fire Rescue said the crash happened around 3 a.m. on Cottageville Highway, just east of Round O Crossroads.
Witnesses told fire-rescue crews that the southbound Honda Accord was speeding when it left the roadway and struck several trees.
Officials say the car was heavily damaged and rolled onto the passenger’s side. The female driver was trapped inside.
“Firefighter-paramedics stabilized the car and used a variety of tools to extricate the woman,” officials said.
The woman was initially treated at the scene once free from the wreckage. She was then taken to the trauma center at Trident Medical Center for immediate care.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
