Coroner’s office seeks help identifying man found dead 1 year ago
MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCBD) – The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who was found dead nearly a year ago.
Coroner Darnell Hartwell said the man, who is believed to be of Hispanic or Native American descent, was found dead in Summerville’s College Park Road area on Sept. 29, 2023.
Experts estimate the man had the following characteristics:
- 45-70 years old
- 155-175 pounds
- 5 feet 6 inches tall
- Gray hair
When found, the man was wearing a maroon University of South Carolina Gamecocks baseball hat and eyeglasses, according to the coroner’s office.
The sketches below are from a South Carolina Law Enforcement Division forensic sketch artist.
Investigators say the man may have frequented the Red Oak Circle neighborhood in Summerville.
“Anyone with information or who has concerns regarding a missing person that fits this description is asked to call the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office at 843-719- 4566,” Coroner Hartwell said.
The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is also investigating.
