Charleston man, 73, uploaded sexually explicit photo of young girl to online search: affidavit
CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A man is facing charges after authorities say he distributed a sexually explicit image of a child online.
William Robert Rattazzi, 73, of Charleston was arrested on a charge of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor after deputies executed a search on his Terns Nest Road home this week.
An affidavit from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office revealed a Microsoft (Bing) user, identified as Rattazzi, distributed an image that depicted a female child.
A tip from the South Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force found that the image was uploaded to Bing Reverse Image Search and the IP address came back to Rattazzi’s home.
Rattazzi was booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center and given a $50,000 bond during a hearing on Friday.
The sheriff’s office said assisting agencies included the Charleston Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.
