Mount Pleasant to build residential space along Coleman Blvd
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – The Town of Mount Pleasant has announced via social media the purpose of the cleared area along Coleman Blvd.
According to town officials, Queens Court, located across from Agave’s Cantina, is being renovated.
The old 22 duplexes have been demolished and 22 new duplexes will be built in their place.
Mount Pleasant says there is no increase in the number of residential units, and all new duplexes will meet the same development standards that are currently in place.
The dense thicket of aggressive, non-native species that outcompete native plants will be replaced by walkable street trees that enhance the environment, town officials report.
“Among them was Chinese Privet, a highly invasive species that is recognized as a severe threat and should be removed from properties,” said the Town of Mount Pleasant.
