Teen critically injured in Walterboro ATV crash

WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCBD) – A teenager was critically injured after their ATV flipped several times before hitting a fence.

Colleton County Fire Rescue said the crash happened off Knights Avenue late Wednesday afternoon.

“The ATV flipped over several times, struck a fence, and ejected the driver. He was not wearing a helmet and suffered a suspected head injury and other traumatic injuries,” fire rescue officials said.

The 16-year-old was airlifted to MUSC Children’s Health Trauma Center at Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital in Charleston.

His condition is not currently known.
