Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for Georgetown County

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect after a severe storm was spotted near Georgetown.

The warning is in effect until 5:30 p.m. The storm is capable of producing quarter size hail and 60 mph wind gusts with damage to trees and power lines.

According to the National Weather Service impacted locations include: Georgetown, DeBordieu Colony, North Santee, Sampit, Plantersville, Graves, Oatland, Litchfield Beach, and Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
