Police investigate shooting at West Ashley motel

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities are investigating a Tuesday morning shooting at a West Ashley motel.

Officers with the Charleston Police Department were dispatched to the West Ashley Inn on Savannah Highway.

One person was taken to a local hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, according to officials.

Police said the area was secure and that there was no threat to the community.

An investigation is ongoing.
