Driver killed in early morning crash with tractor-trailer near Sea Fox Boats

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCBD) – One person has died following a Friday morning crash in Moncks Corner.

Officers with the Moncks Corner Police Department responded to the crash on Highway 52 near Foxbank Plantation Boulevard, in front of Sea Fox Boats, just before 7 a.m.

The department said an early investigation into the crash found that a Ford Explorer was headed north on Highway 52 when it struck a tractor-trailer exiting Sea Fox.

Police say the driver of the Ford was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office will identify the victim when appropriate.

Both northbound lanes of Highway 52 were closed at Cypress Gardens Road. That road has reopened.

The crash remains under investigation.
