Motorcyclist injured after running into U-Haul on I-95
COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured following a Sunday afternoon crash in Colleton County.
The accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-95 near mile marker 68, according to Colleton County Fire Rescue.
The motorcycle struck the back of a U-Haul trailer, then lost control and was ejected from the bike, causing him to slide down the highway.
Officials say the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet but suffered multiple traumatic injuries.
“An Army medic and two off-duty firefighters stop to render aid,” said fire-rescue officials. He was initially treated at the scene before being taken to the trauma center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston.
South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
