Berkeley County enters OPCON 1 amid severe flooding
BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Berkeley County transitioned back to OPCON 1 early Friday morning due to severe flash flooding impacting the area.
OPCON 1 meaning a disaster or emergency is imminent or occurring.
The county has announced all offices will be closed on August 9. This includes the courthouse, Berkeley Animal Center, Cypress Gardens, library branches, the Berkeley County Landfill, and convenience centers.
An emergency shelter is open at Berkeley County Middle School located at 320 N. Live Oak Drive.
