New chicken restaurant opening in North Charleston’s Park Circle

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD)—A new chicken restaurant is opening next week in the Park Circle neighborhood.

Barnyard Chicken, owned by Chef Eric Hara and Carly Hara, will hold the grand opening celebration at 4262 Spruill Avenue on Aug. 9.

The restaurant offers several types of chicken preparations and side dishes, including Chef Hara’s signature ‘brick chicken’ dish. The name stems from the cooking method: Chicken is cooked under pressure to provide a crispy brined skin and a tender and juicy inside.

Barnyard is partnering with Park Circle Cares for their opening and donating part of the brick chicken sale proceeds to the organization from Aug. 9  to Aug. 23.

“We are so grateful for the warm welcome that we’ve received from the Park Circle community,” shared Chef Eric Hara. “It has been very special for me to shape this concept into something fun for both our team and our future patrons. We’re looking forward to opening day and furthering our connections with the community.”
