American in Paris: Watch the Olympic Games in style at The Charleston Place

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – No ticket to Paris? Don’t worry! An iconic hotel in downtown Charleston will be the place to celebrate the Olympic Games this summer.

The Charleston Place hotel will have a special “American in Paris” activation in its Market Street Circle from July 26 until August 11 where you can cheer on local athletes including Emma Navarro, the daughter of Charleston Place owner Ben Navarro, and Burke High School grad Raven Saunders.

Organizers say the courtyard area will become a little slice of Paris on July 26 where guests and locals can gather and the Opening Ceremony on a large LED screen, and the Carriage House will transform into a Parisian-style home with window boxes and climbing florals.

There will be complimentary French treats and specialty Olympics cocktails for purchase. The event runs from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Return to Charleston Place over the weekend to watch the Olympic Games in style. You can purchase a special French-inspired treat or cocktail from the Carriage House in Market Street Circle and cheer on the athletes while watching among fellow spectators. The event – Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. – is free and open to the public; however, food and drinks are available for purchase.

Compete like an athlete! Charleston Place will bring back its custom pickleball court with an Olympics touch. Organizers say Short Court will pop up in Market Street Circle on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.

You’ll have 15-minute play times with access to the Short Court team of experts. Play is free and open to the public, but you’ll need to sign up at the Short Court stand.
