1 dead after collision near Highway 78, deputies say

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Deputies are investigating a collision in Charleston County where they found one person dead Thursday night.

The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Dunmeyer Hill Road and Mill Street by Highway 78 shortly before 8 p.m. for a single-vehicle collision.

When law enforcement arrived at the location in Lincolnville, they found one deceased male, said Alexis Douglas, spokesperson for the sheriff’s office.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area, which is shut down while crews work to clear the scene and complete an initial investigation.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation into this collision is ongoing.
