Auto-pedestrian collision killed one adult & injured 2 children

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – An auto-pedestrian collision in Berkeley County left one adult dead and two children injured on Friday night.

Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway said the crash occurred on July 19 at about 8:50 p.m. on Forty-One Road near Spider Lane, two miles south of St. Stephen. 

According to state troopers, a 1996 GMC pickup truck struck three pedestrians walking along the road. 

One adult pedestrian died at the scene. Two children were injured and were taken to MUSC Downtown for treatment. 

The driver of the truck was not hurt. 

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the victim.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
