Mobile home severely damaged by fire on Johns Island
JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) – St. Andrews Fire Department and multiple other crews responded to a fire at a mobile home early Thursday morning.
Charleston County 911 received reports of a possible structure fire on Hughes Road around 3:30 a.m. Officials say St. Andrews, Charleston, St. John’s Fire Departments, Charleston County EMS, and Charleston County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene.
Emergency responders arrived five minutes after dispatch and discovered smoke and fire inside the mobile home.
According to authorities, the St. Andrews Fire Department extinguished the fire while other crews searched the residence for occupants and secured a water supply.
St. Andrews Fire Department says the fire was quickly contained. The cause and origin are still under investigation by the Chief Fire Marshal for St. Andrews.
No injuries were reported.
