Gov. Henry McMaster offers South Carolina’s delegates to Trump at Republican National Convention

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Gov. Henry McMaster took the honorary step on Monday of offering South Carolina’s 50 delegates to Donald Trump during the Republican National Committee’s roll call.

“From the mountains to the sea, where we’ve been fighting for liberty since 1670, where the Revolutionary War was on, where in 2016 Donald Trump won his first primary ever, ushering in the Trump era of American history, the great state of South Carolina proudly casts all 50 of its votes for President Donald J. Trump,” McMaster said.

McMaster, who’s leading Trump’s re-election campaign in South Carolina, has been one of his strongest political allies.

In January, McMaster and Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette traveled to New Hampshire to appear with Trump at a rally there.

Meanwhile, North Carolina Lt Gov. Mark Robinson — who’s running as the GOP’s gubernatorial candidate — represented the Tarheel State at Monday’s roll call.

Robinson called Trump “America’s Braveheart,” and cast 62 of the state’s 74 votes for him, with the other 12 being allocated later in the convention.
