Expect a very humid Friday with periods of heavy rainfall

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Expect periods of heavy rain on Friday with temperatures in the mid to upper 80s.

Storm Team 2 Meteorologist Josh Marthers said the day will be very humid as tropical moisture spreads onshore from the Atlantic.

“Expect occasional downpours today with enhanced rain chances lingering into Saturday,” said Marthers.

An elevated risk of showers and thunderstorms remains in the forecast through Saturday with hot temperatures returning. Saturday’s high will be near 95 with mid to upper 90s on Sunday.

Heat index values will be around 105 on Saturday and near 110 by Sunday afternoon.
