6 rescued after vessel capsizes near Charleston Harbor

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Six people were rescued Thursday morning after their boat capsized, leaving them stranded on the Charleston Harbor south jetties.

United States Coast Guard (USCG) officials said a boat crew from Station Charleston launched to assist and rescue the individuals around 10:20 a.m. after their 20-foot vessel overturned.

A child and a pregnant woman were among those who were rescued.

All six were taken to the Wappoo Cut Boat Ramp. No injuries were reported.
