2 Charleston County library branches to close early Monday due to possible flooding

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Charleston County Public Library is closing two of its branches early Monday due to the risk of heavy rain and flooding.

Library officials said the Main Library on Calhoun Street and West Ashley Library on Windermere Boulevard will close at 1 p.m.

Book drops and automated material returns will also be closed.

“Patrons are asked to not leave items outside of the book drops. As a reminder, patrons may still access our digital resources during the closures by visiting ccpl.org,” said library leaders.

A cold front will pass through South Carolina on Monday bringing torrential downpours and some thunderstorms throughout the area. Forecasters said the heavy rain paired with high tide could prompt flooding downtown.
