Hot, humid with a risk of storms on Saturday
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Another warm weekend that’s hot and humid is underway with a risk of afternoon showers across the Lowcountry.
Temperatures will reach the low 90s with heat index values reaching triple digits. Storm Team 2 says the Lowcountry will not be as hot as it has been the last couple of days.
“As you head into later this afternoon we could possibly, briefly for a moment, be in the 108 [heat index] category or higher that meets the criteria for a heat advisory but right now that’s not an issue for our area,” says meteorologist Grace Lowe.
Storm Team 2 says most of us will stay dry until the afternoon. Around 2 p.m., scattered showers will start to move throughout the area.
“Rain really does not get here until 2 or 3 o’clock, scattered showers in those more inland areas. Most of us today are not going to be dealing with rain, only that intense heat,” Lowe added.
