Community invited to free CSO concert at The Joe

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The City of Charleston and Charleston Symphony Orchestra (CSO) are kicking off Independence Day celebrations with a free concert at The Joe on Saturday.

The CSO, under the direction of Yuriy Bekker, will perform patriots music alongside works by John Williams, Aaron Copland, John Philip Sousa, Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, and more.

Officials say the event is open to the public and free to attend. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the concert is scheduled to start at 8 p.m.

Attendees will be able to enjoy concessions by the RiverDogs hospitality team.

Following a night of music under the stars, there will be a dazzling display of fireworks to end the night.

Officials say due to limited capacity, tickets must be reserved to secure a spot.
