Crash involving 2 tractor trailers, 2 passenger vehicles shuts down highway near Hemingway

WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Emergency crews are responding to a multi-vehicle crash on a highway near Hemingway.

Officials with the Williamsburg County Fire Department (WCFD) said the crash involved two tractor-trailers and two passenger vehicles.

“An air ambulance has been requested for one patient,” officials said. “Other patients are being evaluated by EMS for transport.”

The crash happened on Highway 41/51 just north of Mingo Crossing, which is approximately nine miles south of Hemingway.

Fire officials said a portion of the highway near the crash will be closed for an extended period. People are asked to find an alternative route if traveling in the area.
