21-year-old arrested for multiple West Ashley robberies

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — A 21-year-old man is accused of a string of West Ashley robberies taking place from May through June and has pending charges from two law enforcement agencies.

Jevon Andre Moore of Charleston is charged with two counts of armed robbery with a deadly weapon and two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime, the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).

Additionally, he is charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime by the Charleston Police Department.

Deputies say Moore is responsible for an armed robbery on Sam Rittenberg Boulevard on May 25 just before 9 p.m. An employee of the business provided a suspect description.

On June 2, deputies responded to a location on Ashley River Road around 10 a.m. for armed robbery. The suspect description matched the appearance of the description given for the May 25 robbery.

Authorities believe Moore committed a third robbery on June 9 at an Exxon gas station on Savannah Highway. Detectives say he pointed a handgun at the clerk, demanded money, and then escaped.

Alexis Douglas, spokesperson for CCSO, said deputies were alerted that Moore was spotted in West Ashley on June 17. Charleston Police officers and Charleston County deputies executed a search warrant and found clothing items connecting Moore to the robberies.

Moore is in custody at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
