SLED charges former Georgetown County investigator for assault
GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) — A former Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office investigator has been charged by the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED).
Everest Henry Carrison II, 40, was arrested and charged with assault and battery in the first degree after Sheriff Carter Weaver requested SLED investigate criminal sexual conduct allegations against Carrison.
The incident occurred while Carrison was off-duty.
According to the arrest warrant, on February 3, Carrison was in a hotel room in Horry County where he and the victim drank alcohol together after the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office Polar Plunge event.
Allegedly, Carrison gave the victim a ride to a location because they were too intoxicated to drive, the warrant states. He then took the victim inside the location and assaulted them.
SLED says they obtained video surveillance footage and a witness statement during their investigation to corroborate the charge.
