SCHP: Truck driver dies on I-95 after hitting tree

COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating after a truck driver sustained fatal injuries after striking a tree on I-95.

Troopers say the collision occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The 2024 Mack Truck was traveling on I-95 southbound near the 62 mm when they ran off the road left and struck a tree.

Officials say the driver was the sole occupant.

The Colleton County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the victim.
