St. George school in ‘secure’ status again Tuesday due to nearby law enforcement activity
ST. GEORGE, S.C. (WCBD) – An elementary school in St. George has been placed in a “secure” status again Tuesday morning.
The move comes amid law enforcement activity near Williams Memorial Elementary School on S Metts Street.
Officials with Dorchester District 4 (DD4) said the secure status will be lifted when law enforcement gives administrators an all-clear.
District officials said the school was placed in a secure status on Monday while law enforcement officials searched for a wanted suspect to ran into a nearby wooded area. It’s unclear if Tuesday’s law enforcement activity is connected to that individual.
