Report: Man passed workers a note, hopped counter, took money during Walmart robbery

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities are searching for a man who passed a note to employees in a Walmart money center before taking the cash and running.

An incident report provided by the North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) said the suspect approached a register in the Dorchester Road store’s money services department and handed a note to an employee that stated, “me and my crew armed and dangerous you got less than 2 mins to give me the money now.”

The man was described as a Black male wearing a red jacket, white undershirt, green/khaki pants, and a blue facemask.

While the employee began collecting cash from the register, the report states that the individual jumped over the counter and collected whatever cash he could before running out of the store.

Officers observed the suspect had a partner while watching surveillance video of the incident.

Police said the second person – described as a Black male dressed in all black from head to toe with a black face mask – ran to the grocery side of the store and walked throughout the retailer to offset any witnesses or employees who would connect him with the robbery, according to the report.

Both men exited the store at separate times heading toward the Kinslea Village Apartments, which is located behind the Walmart off Parlor Drive.

An investigation into the robbery is ongoing. Anyone with information should contact the North Charleston Police Department.
