Several detained after fights erupt at basketball event in North Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Several people were detained Saturday after fights broke out during a basketball event.

Officers with the North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) responded to North Charleston High School after receiving reports of several fights during a “Slam Fest” basketball event.

Police said there were reports of shots fired.

No injuries were reported; however, several people were detained during incident.

An investigation is ongoing.
