Woman injured in shooting at Walterboro apartment

WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities are investigating a Wednesday afternoon shooting that left a woman injured.

Emergency crews responded to the Colleton Heights Apartments around noon after a shooting was reported to 9-1-1.

Officials with Colleton County Fire Rescue said the adult female victim suffered an injury to her neck and was treated on scene before eventually being airlifted to a Charleston-area hospital.

A suspect was apprehended by the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office a short time later, said officials.

The Walterboro Police Department is investigating the shooting.
