Charleston Country Music Festival happening Sunday
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The inaugural Charleston Country Music Festival will take place at a riverfront venue in North Charleston this weekend.
Local, regional, and national country music acts are set to perform across two stages with full bands and acoustic sets at Jenkins Youth and Family Village, according to organizers.
Among those performing are Whey Jennings and Raelyn Nelson, grandchildren of country music icons Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. Other bands on tap to play include One Flew South, Andrew Beam, Lauren Hall Band, The Big Finish, Ryan Sheley of Homemade Wine, George Fox of Big Stoner Creek, and Jon Hanks.
Those attending the event can enjoy food from Saltwater Cowboys and browse art and retail vendors. There will also be a family-friendly area for kids.
“Festivalgoers will pay tribute to Toby Keith as Whey Jennings leads a toast and the crowd lifts a Red Solo Cup in Keith’s honor as his iconic hit blasts from the stage,” said organizers.
The festival takes place on Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
General admission tickets can be purchased for $45 per person. VIP tickets are available for $145 and include complimentary food and beverages, private bathrooms, tented riverfront seating in the heart of the event, and a VIP entrance to avoid the lines.
Tickets can be purchased online at the door on the day of the event.
Proceeds of the event will benefit the Jenkins Orphanage, Wake Up Carolina, and Islands Against Cancer, Inc.
