What to do at the Flowertown Festival

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – Springtime is here, and soon thousands will gather and smell the azaleas at this year’s Flowertown Festival.

The Flowertown Festival has become one of Southeast’s largest arts and crafts festivals since being founded over 50 years ago.

This year the festival will be held April 5 – 7. Admission to the festival and parking are free and open to the public.

Friday and Saturday the festival will be open 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Fundraising

Dunkin’ for Dollars is a fundraiser at this year’s Flowertown festival that wants to make a big splash for the community. The YMCA wants to raise $12,500 for new playground equipment at their downtown branch. Attendees can line up and pay $5 a ball to dunk a special contender and help smash that goal.

Arts and Craft Vendors

Capikat African Fashion Designs will be in space S24. This vendor will sell handmade clothes, bags and jewelry made with African fabrics.

Charleston Oyster Wreaths will be located at VR11. Browse up-cycled oyster wreaths, ornaments, jewelry and other crafts from this local Charleston business.

Built by Bees will be at CP7. Built by Bees has a variety of gourmet honey products that are organic and free from additives.

Food Vendors

Bits n Bytes will be in space RR2. Get your Prime Angus Steak Smash Burgers, famous wings and fries to dine while walking the festival.

Bradleys Bakery will be at space E3. They will sell banana pudding cupcakes, other assorted cupcakes, and mini cakes.

Fed Up Truck will be located at Space RL2. Here you can find a variety of southern comfort foods with influences from all over in the form of bowls, nachos and tacos.
