Driver killed in Sunday crash on Treeland Drive

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A driver was killed in an Easter Sunday crash near Summerville, troopers say.

Lance Corporal Brittany Glover with the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) said the collision happened on Treeland Drive at College Park Road just after 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

A 2020 Chevrolet Traverse and a 2017 BMW SUV were headed east on Treeland Dr. when the Chevrolet attempted to pass the BMW and the vehicles collided.

Both vehicles ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

Trooper Glover said the driver of the Chevrolet was killed. Two people in the BMW were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
