Fan experiences and special events at Credit One Charleston Open

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — The top women’s tennis talent will be in Charleston this weekend to compete in the annual Credit One Charleston Open.

Looking for something to do in between matches? The Charleston Open has you covered with a long list of events and experiences to fill your free time.

USTA Play Tennis! Fan Zone

Mar. 30 – Apr. 7 // 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

This interactive fan zone is in partnership with the United States Tennis Association (USTA)

The entire family can participate in the fun the fan zone offers including:

  • Speed of serve challenge
  • Reaction wall
  • Multi-ball tennis simulator
  • Ball crew challenge
  • Knock ‘em down challenge

Autograph Sessions

Mar. 30 – Apr. 5 // 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

During these sessions, attendees can head over to the Volvo Experience between the Grand Lawn and Althea Gibson Club Court to meet their favorite players and have the chance to take pictures and grab their autograph.

Har-Tru Play On After Dark

Apr. 4 // 8:15 p.m.

This glow-in-the-dark experience features glowing games, music, and a vibrant atmosphere produced by XGLOSIVE. If you are older than 16 and want to attend, you must buy a Thursday night ticket to be on the tournament grounds. Registration for this event is free.

Teacher Appreciation Day

Apr. 2// 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The Credit One Charleston Open is having a teacher appreciation day where tickets will be discounted for educators. In addition, there will be an on-the-court presentation to honor the special guest, and three teachers will do the coin toss on the court before the matches begin.

The first 200 teachers to arrive on Apr. 2 will receive a stadium bag and food voucher. To receive the items, teachers must show a school ID. To purchase tickets, click here.

Family Weekend

Mar. 30 -31 // 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

The tournament’s family weekend is sponsored by the Medical University of South Carolina. Thanks to this sponsorship, admission for kids 16 and under is free, while adult tickets are only $10.

Some family activities during the weekend include:

  • Photo ops with characters such as Ariel, Belle, Elsa, Anna and Spiderman
  • Magical balloons by Carol’s Balloon Art
  • Creative face painting and temporary tattoos from Faces by Faith
  • SparkleBar Fairy Hair Tinsel by Tibby
  • Corn hole and giant connect 4
  • Pickle ball and padel open play and demos

Gospel Brunch

Apr. 7 // 9 a.m.

Gospel Brunch will begin with a preview of the Championship matches that Sunday from Tracy Austin and John Isner, and then Voices of Deliverance Gospel Singers will take the stage.

Afterward, a brunch menu full of Lowcountry dishes and a deluxe Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar will be offered. Admission tickets for Sunday’s Finals matches must be bought separately.

Kids’ Zone

Mar. 30 – Apr. 5 // 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

The Kids’ Zone is an area full of Jason’s Jump Castles including:

  • T- Rex
  • Frosty Double Dip Slide
  • Uphill Obstacle Course
  • Field Goal Challenge

Pickleball

Mar. 30 – Apr. 7 // 10 a.m. – 6 a.m.

Pickleball courts will be open at the Credit One Charleston Open with daily demos, equipment demos, pro exhibitions and more.
