9 people arrested in Goose Creek motel investigation for narcotic charges

GOOSE CREE, S.C. (WCBD) — Nine people were arrested after a multi-agency operation targeted a Goose Creek motel that had received numerous civilian complaints of criminal activity.

Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office announced that law enforcement surveyed the Quality Inn at 103 Red Bank Road after receiving multiple complaints of illegal activity.

During surveillance, agents saw several hand-to-hand narcotic transactions at two specific motel rooms on the property, said BCSO. After viewing these exchanges, officials conducted traffic stops in the motel area, resulting in five arrests.

Eddie Mallard, 39, of Goose Creek, was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine 28 g – 100 g and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Cierra Limehouse, 32, of Moncks Corner, was arrested and charged for possession of cocaine.

Julia Carlisle, 57, of Goose Creek, was arrested and charged with intent to distribute cocaine base.

Tanesha Jefferson, 42, of Goose Creek, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine.

Schantrice Rutledge, 42, of Goose Creek, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine base and unlawful conduct towards a child. Rutledge is the mother of a juvenile found in one of the motel rooms with criminal activity.

After surveillance, a search warrant was executed for room 109 and room 106 at the Quality Inn. Agents found two individuals in room 109, identified as Leroy Cuttino and Sonya Rose, along with a 5-year-old child.

Cuttino was determined to be the father of the 5-year-old and was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine base, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, unlawful conduct toward a child, trafficking cocaine base within a half mile of a school, and possession with intent to distribute cocaine within a half mile of a school.

The child was released into the custody of family members, said BCSO.

Rose was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine base, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, trafficking cocaine base within a half mile of a school, and possession with the intent to distribute cocaine within a half mile of a school.

In room 106, agents found two individuals identified as Kemontea Washington and Lucia Cash.

Washington was arrested and charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

Cash was issued a citation for possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

During the operation, authorities recovered approximate amounts of the following:

  • 37.1 grams of cocaine base
  • 39 grams of cocaine
  • 4.2 of fentanyl
  • 1.8 grams of marijuana
  • 0.5 grams of methamphetamine

Officials from the Berkeley County Narcotics Task Force, BCSO Intel Unit, BCSO K9 Unit, Charleston County Sheriff’s Office Metro Major Case Unit, CCSO K9 Unit, and Goose Creek Police all assisted with this investigation.

In all, two search warrants were executed, 16 arrest warrants were executed and 12 traffic stops resulted in three warnings and one citation.
