BCSO, SLED continues search for endangered elderly man
SUN CITY, S.C. (WSAV) – State and local law enforcement agencies are asking for the public’s help in their search for a missing elderly man.
Martin Raffone, 81, of Okatie was reported missing by concerned family members. He suffers from dementia and is considered endangered.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is now assisting the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) in its search.
Raffone was last seen leaving his Sun City home during the early morning hours of Tuesday, Feb. 20.
Since then, investigators have pieced together a timeline, identifying times and locations, where he was last seen:
- 1:19 a.m. located at US 278 and Auto Mall Boulevard in Hardeeville
- 1:49 a.m. located at Hwy 17 and US 278 southbound in Hardeeville
- 2:16 a.m. located on Limehouse Road in Levy
- 2:45 a.m. located at Hwy 17 and Exit 5 at I-95 in Hardeeville
- 2:54 a.m. located at Enmarket at Exit 8 at I-95 in Hardeeville where he purchased $10 in gasoline
- 3:08 a.m. located on Medical Center Drive turning towards Hwy 17
He is believed to be driving a white 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan bearing a South Carolina license plate, KDP 973.
Raffone is 5-foot-7 in height and weighs about 164lbs with gray hair and blue eyes. He may be wearing a green sweatshirt and blue jeans.
Investigators are now asking residents to check their residential and commercial properties in the areas where Raffone was last seen during the early hours of Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024.
