Overnight work to close East Bay Street ramp onto Ravenel Bridge

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Overnight roadwork will temporarily close the East Bay Street ramp leading onto the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, according to state transportation officials.

Crews with the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will close the East Bay Street ramp around 9:00 p.m. Tuesday through 5:00 a.m. the following day.

The ramp leads onto U.S. 17 Northbound and the Ravenel Bridge. The pedestrian walkway will also be closed during the work.

Drivers are encouraged to plan their routes and drive carefully around work zones.
