During the Colonial Period, coastal South Carolina was the largest producer of rice in America. Even today, you won’t find many Charleston meals without rice on the menu. Anson Mills curated Carolina Gold Rice and saved the crop from extinction. We love their Middlins rice cooked slow and creamy like grits. Nutty and flavorful, this rice makes a perfect companion to our slow-braised short rib or local fish plates.Charleston is blessed with a bounty of local seafood coming fresh from our creeks and waterways. Choose sustainably sourced fish like grouper or Mahi as the star of your plated dinner entrée or in our popular fish tacos. Servers passing She Crab soup shots or mini crab cakes are a nice way to greet guests for cocktail hour.
