Neighbors reported hearing explosions before housefire in Mount Pleasant
Mount Pleasant, S.C. (WCBD) – Crews with the Awendaw-McClellanville Fire District on Thursday responded to a housefire at 1789 Highway 41.
According to Charleston County dispatch, the call came in shortly before 9:20 p.m.
AMFD crews said that there were five people inside the house, but everyone made it out safely.
Crews battled the flames for about 45 minutes before they were able to get the fire under control.
Neighbors reported hearing several explosions that they say sounded like fireworks before the fire started.
Charleston County Sheriff’s Office and Charleston County EMS were on scene as well.
