Apartment fire displaces 2 adults, 4 children in North Charleston
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Crews responded Wednesday evening to a reported structure fire at a North Charleston apartment complex.
According to the call for service log, first responders received reports at 6:31 p.m. of a structure fire at the Otranto Club Villas Apartments in building B.
The fire originated from the roof, but the duplex had a firewall that stopped the flames from spreading, according to officials.
Two adults and four children were displaced as a result of the incident. The American Red Cross is assisting them.
No injuries were reported, said Christan Rainey, spokesperson for the North Charleston Fire Department.
When News 2 arrived, numerous crews were on the scene; however, no active flames could be seen.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
