Gov. McMaster to hold briefing on state response to Hurricane Helene

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCBD)- South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster will provide an update Tuesday afternoon on the state’s response to Hurricane Helene and ongoing recovery efforts.

McMaster is expected to hold a briefing alongside state emergency management officials at 2:30 p.m. at the South Carolina Emergency Operations Center in West Columbia.

It comes as the number of storm-related deaths in the state continues to rise. The South Carolina Department of Public Safety reported Tuesday morning that 33 people have died across 11 counties as a result of the recent hurricane.
