How to Spend a Perfect Day in North Charleston

If urban renewal is the hottest trend in municipalities across the country, then the City of North Charleston set the stage long ago. Ready to explore all that the city has to offer? Our perfect day in North Charleston looks a little something like this:

MORNING

Enjoy a morning at Riverfront Park, set on the banks of the Cooper River, surrounded by grand oaks and peaceful views! Bring along your furry four-legged friend for a game of catch and a beautiful walk.

We hope you made room in your suitcase! Grab your pals and make your way to Tanger Outlets, which features more than 85 of your favorite brands, from Ann Taylor to Michael Kors to American Eagle.

AFTERNOON

Spend a “spirited” afternoon sipping sweet tea vodka and playing cornhole with the crew at Charleston’s largest distillery, Firefly! This local hot spot produces its own spirits and is greatly loved by locals and visitors alike (and their pups too!). Be sure to check out their calendar of events for food truck pop ups, live outdoor concerts and more exciting events throughout the year!

EVENING

You don’t want to miss out on exploring Park Circle! Less than 10 miles north of downtown, Park Circle is a lively community with unique character. A top local destination with a distinct neighborhood vibe, Park Circle is a planned community that dates back to the early 1900s. As its name suggests, Park Circle is anchored by a central circular park which is echoed by several other nearby green spaces—including the city’s own disc golf course, which is free to the public. Known today as North Charleston’s old “Main Street,” Park Circle’s East Montague Ave. is lined with quite a few storefronts and eateries.

Head to Holy City Brewing to wrap up your day! Their taproom offers a diverse taplist, full food menu and lineup of live music. Taste a beer you love and wondering if you can find it when you head back home? Check out their beer finder (or plan a return visit, of course!).
