2022 Festival of Houses & Gardens

Tuesday, April 5, 2022

Historic Charleston Foundation welcomes you to our 75th  Annual Festival of Houses and Gardens! In 2022, we will again feature exciting opportunities from tours to concerts, and wine tastings to lectures.

Since 1947 the Festival of Houses and Gardens has been Historic Charleston Foundation’s largest fundraiser and educational tool and has provided intimate glimpses into some of the most beautiful homes and gardens in Charleston, SC. Come along with us for educational tours and events that explore the area’s significant cultural and architectural landscapes and historic events in the Charleston region, from 350 years ago to present day.

Vital support from Festival patrons, donors, and partners enables HCF to fulfill its mission through education, advocacy, and preservation initiatives.

Festival Tours are arranged by street names. These docent-led tours typically include the interiors and, sometimes, the gardens of private properties.

May we suggest that you complement your Festival Tour with a Morning History Walk or a Food for Thought Luncheon Lecture? Plan to spend a Thursday evening listening to the soulful music of The Plantation Singers or a Tuesday evening at Wine by the Water. Late Saturday afternoons are a perfect time to relax and enjoy music and wine in the Russell Garden at Rosé and Roses. Looking for that quintessential Charleston photograph? Then, you might enjoy the Photography Walkabouts on Saturday mornings. You may explore these offerings in the Live Like a Local, Morning History Walk, and Food for Thought categories.

There are so many wonderful offerings during the 2022 Festival, and we hope to see you there!
